The North Rockland Junior Chamber of Commerce is a youth leadership and business engagement program created in partnership with the North Rockland Chamber of Commerce. The program is designed to introduce high school students and young adults up to age 21 to the world of business, entrepreneurship, community service, and civic involvement — while fostering leadership skills and real-world experience.
This initiative helps connect the next generation of leaders with local businesses, professionals, and community organizations throughout North Rockland.
Our Purpose
The North Rockland Junior Chamber of Commerce was established to:
- Promote awareness of local businesses and economic development
- Encourage leadership, professionalism, and community involvement among students
- Provide opportunities to learn about entrepreneurship, business operations, and civic engagement
- Foster collaboration between students, business leaders, and community partners
- Support Chamber events and initiatives through youth involvement
Who Can Join
Membership is open to students who:
- Are in grades 9–12
- Attend school or reside in the North Rockland area
- Have an interest in business, leadership, entrepreneurship, or community service
- Want to gain real-world experience while giving back to their community
No prior business experience is required — just curiosity, motivation, and a willingness to participate.
What Junior Chamber Members Do
Junior Chamber members may participate in a variety of activities, including:
- Assisting with Chamber-hosted events and community programs
- Planning youth-led initiatives and service projects
- Participating in leadership and professional development workshops
- Learning directly from local business owners and professionals
- Supporting local “shop local” campaigns and promotions
- Developing teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
Activities are designed to be educational, engaging, and meaningful — while offering students valuable experience they can carry forward.
Leadership & Structure
The Junior Chamber operates with student leadership roles, which may include:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Committee Chairs (Events, Outreach, Membership, etc.)
Student leaders work with adult advisors from the North Rockland Chamber of Commerce, who provide guidance, mentorship, and support.
