Relief funding is available for North Rockland small businesses impacted by CHPE construction
The North Rockland Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that applications for the CHPE Good Neighbor Grant are now officially open.
The grant program was established to provide relief to local small businesses that experienced economic impacts associated with Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE) construction, including road closures, detours, traffic disruptions, access issues and other construction-related impacts during 2024–2025.
The application deadline is October 31, 2026.
How to Apply
Businesses interested in applying should follow these steps:
- Visit the online Grant Portal:
Open the Good Neighbor Grant Portal - Create a profile and log into the portal.
- Enter 2026NRGN in the Access Code box.
- Select Good Neighbor Grant Application and begin the application.

Applicants are encouraged to begin the process as soon as possible and allow adequate time to gather the business, financial and supporting documentation required by the application.
Important Deadline
All applications must be submitted by October 31, 2026.
Please do not wait until the final days of the application period to begin the process.
About the Application Process
Applications, eligibility determinations, application review and awards are administered by the Community Foundation of Orange, Sullivan and Rockland.
The North Rockland Chamber of Commerce is assisting with community outreach and awareness to help ensure that businesses affected by CHPE construction know that the application is available and have an opportunity to apply.
Businesses should refer to the official application and Community Foundation for complete information regarding eligibility, required documentation, application requirements, terms and conditions.
